History of the bowring:
Development of The Bowring began in November of 2008 at a high rise training school. Our fire department was testing different high rise hose deployment methods and techniques. Major Mack, who is always thinking of ways to improve the fire department, was trying to think of a better way to grip a 2 1/2" hose for advancement . He discussed this problem with Firefighter Bowring. Bowring, with his mechanical background, went home and made a tool that not only worked for hose advancement but was able to design a multi-purpose tool that works great for hose advancement, emergency bail out, auto extrication, gas shut off and more. Major Mack was excited about the opportunitities and benefits that this tool possessed. Bowring and Mack put their heads together once again to come up with several more handy features that fit the needs of firefighters everywhere.
